I did know RW Mickey Ander passed to the celestial lodge last year until I read this guest book. I met Mickey when I became a member, officer and WM of A. Douglas Smith lodge. I moved to Utah in 1997 and eventually settled in the Austin TX area. I have stayed active in the craft and became a PM for the third time tonight at Robert Burns #227 in Round Rock TX tonight.

I note with sorrow the loss of another friend and Brother. In 1996, after a ruling from the GM of Vermont cleared me for Passing and Raising, Preston and Mickey invited me to come down to Concord Lodge from MD for an EA Degree - they wanted me to know I was family, wherever I was. I count those two, along with a few other Brothers (some living, some no longer with us) as the men who kept me from giving up on Masonry. And I remember the look of joy in Mickey's face at being at my Raising at Hiram-Takoma #10 a few weeks after that EA in Concord. He will be missed, and he will be remembered.

I have already expressed my condolences to both our Lodge and to Susan. However, his loss to our Lodge, District and Masonry at large is huge. On a brighter note this web site is so impressive. I have affiliated with Berne Lodge 724 in New Bern, NC which was founded in circa 1790. It grew out of Saint John's Lodge #2 which also meets at the Scottish Rite Temple (Valley of New Bern) of which I am also a member. I enjoyed the photos and am disappointed that I was not aware of Past Master's Night. I will do my best to be there this year. Look forward to seeing you at the October Stated Communication. Bretheren are welcome to call me at 252.637.3583 and or visit for a weekend. We are a charming historic city about 51/2 hours from Fairfax, VA Fraternally, Jim Gruenebaum, PM

Worshipful: I wish to express to you, and through you to the Brethren everywhere, the sincerest feeling of loss caused by the passing of Worshipful Brother Mickey Ander. I have expressed my condolences to his widow, Susan, via the telephone, and have made an entry into the Guest Book. But I'd like to say that those of us who had the distinguished pleasure of serving in the Navy and in Masonry with him, and regard him as a dear friend and a Brother, will sorely miss Mickey. I ask the Supreme Architect of the Universe to Welcome our Brother into the Eternal Lodge with the Biblical three-fold Blessing of Aaron, the first consecrated Priest: May He Bless him and keep him; May He make His countenance shine upon him and be gracious unto him; May He turn His countenance unto him and grant him His most precious gift- Eternal Peace: Shaloha, Dear Brother So Mote It Be Br. Brethern, it has been a while since I'd seen the website. It looks great. My apologies for my forced absence from the lodge. I am 7/12th's of the way through my next graduate degree and classes are always held on Tuesday nights. As soon as I finish I shall return.

I'm an absolute Komputer Klutz..... But, you guys have made this site easy to navigate. It's very much appreciated!! Hopefully, we'll be able to: (a) Keep it up-to-date. (b) link it to other 54th District Lodge Web-sites. (c) Offer the DDGM this as a vehicle to make his important messages available to the Masonic world. Again _ It's a neat start. Fraternally, Mickey
